Dun Dun Duuun!

Once again, the world is faced with the one and only King of Monsters! Godzilla stars again in his own movie with a new take on our favorite monster. Let's pretend that the 1998 Godzilla movie never existed and treat this one as the movie Godzilla rightfully deserves. This movie features actors and actresses such as Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, and Bryan Cranston.

The human side of the story was actually good. Most of the time it follows Ford Brody, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson(Kickass 1 & 2, Avengers: AoU), in his goal to reunite with his family while also trying to defend the country from the threat of the mutos. There are many moments when you'll be at the edged of your seat, keeping you tense in different situations.

First of all, to those who said that this Godzilla was fat, well it's not a bad thing. Secondly, this was made from CGI, whilst the Japanese Godzilla is a costume with a man inside it. So I think why not go big? The size of the king of monsters made him look more gigantic. The roar of which most of us are familiar with has a greater effect because of how large Godzilla currently is. He even looked bigger than most of the Kaijus in Pacific Rim. His enemies for this film are the Mutos. They're big insect like monsters that feeds on radiation. I find them more alien than prehistoric. I still love the design. It was smooth looking and simple but still they looked menacing.

Honestly, I think that the movie lacks one thing. More screen time for Godzilla. Every time he appears I was awestruck on how huge the monster is. Along with the other enemies, the mutos, the scenes were truly epic. That is what made me want for more. Good old monsters fighting monsters. All those buildings going down while they throw each other round, that's what monster movies are about. Sadly those scene were limited to give way to the focus on the human story. Perhaps maybe in the sequel? I do hope that there will be a sequel. Still it hade more content than what I expected which made it an entertaining and visually enjoyable film though I'm not sure it's worth it to watch in 3D or IMAX.

Inside you'll find some of the most famous current komiks titles today. This is helpful to those who want to get to the komiks scene but unsure about where to start. Inside you'll see whole stories or sometime just excerpts from the komiks. People will be able to see different types of storytelling and be awestruck in the art that compliments the stories. My personal favorites were Diwata, Trese: Thirteen Stations, Darwin's Association of Delicious Evilness, and Dead Balagtas. The editors are now accepting submissions for ABANGAN: The Best Philippine Komiks 2015.

The T.A.R.D.I.S.(Time and Relative Dimensions in Space) is a time machine popularized by the British show Doctor Who. It is cleverly disguised as an 1960s-style London police box. Now, what I am reviewing here is a a miniaturized version manufactured by Mega Mini Kits.

THE LIGHT-UP TARDIS KIT

I have to say that when I first got the Light-Up T.A.R.D.I.S Kit figure, I found it much more smaller than what I expected. It's actual height is 3 inches. But what it lacks in height, it makes up with its details. You can actually read the writings on the left and right side with a magnifying glass. The texture was also made to imitate a wood like surface.

The figure's lamp, like the actual T.A.R.D.I.S., lights up! Although the light on the figure is just steady. It doesn't blink and create any sounds. The light seems to be LED.You can fin the switch under it and it's a 3V battery. I use it as a night light in my room.

The kit also includes a foldout T.A.R.D.I.S. timeline. It shows what a T.A.R.D.I.S. is and its history with the Doctor. It also has the pictures of all the Doctors up until 11th (no War Doctor though).

A little history lesson ;)

I really like this little T.A.R.D.I.S. It's looks great if  placed on tables or at your desktop. I got it for P400.00 at FullyBooked. Mega Mini Kits also has a Dalek ang a Cybermen bust kit. I have yet to get my hands on one of those. So that's it for my first review.
So a new year is here.  I figured that I should start blogging/reviewing because it's something that I wanted to do before. I even ad I failed blog with no post (well there was already a draft). I would like to review things but as my title says, it's going to be random things. It could be from Capsule Toys to pasta or books to places. Please bear with me and my blog. Thanks.
